Geography
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest (USA). After completing undergraduate studies there, I moved to Michigan for graduate school and later to Germany for post‑doctoral work. Self‑taught German (~B1/B2 CEFR).
Personal
I’m 6′ 8″ / 202 cm tall—about 3.1 σ above the mean male height in many regions (source). I no longer play basketball, but did in high school.
